...so here's a little sneak peak from someone who's had a big sneak peak...Janie Bryant, the insanely talented costume designer of the iconic show Mad Men has created a line of nail polishes with Nailtini. Inspired by fabric, they come in 4 new colors, (left to right) Stinger, Deauville, French 75 and Bourbon Satin, also evoke the cocktail culture of the 60's. I'm totally going to be rocking the Stinger - it's an iridescent black that shine with purples, turquoise and gold - kinda like a peacock feather. I'm hoping to get these on my fingertip asap, but for the rest of you, pre-order for October 15th...

Get Out and Dine Out
By now, I'm sure your email inbox is as jammed as mine with one-day deals (like Groupon, Living Social), online sample sales (like Gilt, Hautelook) and special city events (like NYMag, 8Coupons). Enough is enough...right? I had started to delete my accounts with all these sites, but let's get real - a deal is a DEAL! Especially a deal where there is no upfront cost. Blackboard Eats is my favorite of all new money-saving, life-changing online companies. With BBE, you simply sign up for coupons for restaurants in your city (NYC, LA, San Fran). The coupons come few times a month, not to overcrowd your inbox, and offer you FREE passcodes that give you 20-30% off at awesome restaurants.

Urban Farming at its BEST
The Wishlisters took a trip to visit our favorite urban farmers at Tenth Acre Farm in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.
(Bennett Wilson, Jordan Hall and Adam Wilson)
The farm is built on the basketball court of St. Cecelia's School and it's serious! The guys built each box from scratch and hauled in tons and tons (literally) of dirt, filling in the boxes and planting seeds and within weeks the fruits of their labor was growing! We were beyond impressed with their knowledge of pH-balancing the soil and increasing nitrogen functions...so beautiful to see how they have turned nothing, an empty asphalt lot in this case, into an abundant and neighborhood benefitting place!
They've got ton of fresh, organic vegetable and herb varieties including: Cherry tomatoes (holy deliciousness), Whopper tomatoes, Beefsteak Tomatoes, Roma Tomatos, 4 varieties of Heirloom tomatoes, Classic Eggplant. Lady Finger Eggplant, Albino Eggplant (crazy!!), Cucumbers, Jalapeno Peppers, Hungarian Wax Peppers, Habanero Peppers (yowzer!), Garden Salsa Peppers, Cubanella Sweet Peppers, Thai Basil, Sweet Basil, Chives, Sage, Thyme, Oregano, Cilantro, Rosemary, Swiss Chard and Sorrel (lettuce that taste like green apple Jolly Ranchers.) You can even pick your own!

Urban Escapes
NYC is the best city in the world, but sometimes every city girl needs a break. Enter Urban Escapes, an NYC based organization that organizes outdoor adventures for the outdoorsy girl (or boy) in all of us. Trips range from white water rafting and tubing + beer tasting, to rock climbing and day hikes. There is something for everyone looking to enjoy some of the natural beauty our local countryside has to offer. Urban Escapes also offers trips for those living in Boston, DC, and Philly.

Sassy Slither
Ever since I wore out my fabulous leopard print Aldo flats I've been on the lookout for a replacement. Not one to usually shop at Anthropologie, I strolled in there on a whim and found these adorable snake skin flats, complete with a sassy sparkly bow. They are a little expensive, but as cute flats are an important fall wardrobe staple, I may just have to splurge!

Summer Streets
For the next few Saturdays - August 7, 14 and 21 - NYC dept. of transportation presents Summer Streets where they will close down Park Avenue from the Brooklyn Bridge to Central Park, allowing for you so bike, run, skate, rollerblade, walk, whatever without the fear on traffic! I love this! What is cooler than chilling in the middle of the street in Manhattan!
